Cross-Cultural Understanding

What problems do you run into when doing international business? Every culture has its own customs, standards and values. Unlike math or statistics, where everything is proven by laws and rules, the identity of a culture is an elusive thing. It concerns subtle, dynamic information that we have to learn to read between the lines. NHTV develops methods for this purpose and studies cultural phenomena.

Cross-Cultural Understanding has been given concrete form by means of the Associate Professorship Cross-Cultural Understanding (which is a cross-academy professorship) and by means of the International Classroom, a teaching method in which students from a variety of cultures work together. The International Classroom is a good preparation to the cultural complexity that goes with their future international careers.
