Three areas of action are distinguished:
- the degree programmes and the departments implement social responsibility individually
- the activities on social responsibility of all degree programmes and departments are connected to improve the robustness of the theme
- the three strategic themes Imagineering, Cross-Cultural Understanding and Social Responsibility will be connected.
The bottom-up approach to accelerate on the theme and to create added value through:
- individual development of the themes of social responsibility by associate professors and lecturers
- development of the themes within the degree programmes and the research programmes
- participation in and contribution to the network, the meeting plaza for social responsibility
The top-down approach is mainly meant to stimulate and facilitate the bottom-up approach:
- an annual budget is provided
- the network needs an anchor point, a facilitator who organises the exchange of ideas, methods and progress by the associate professors and lecturers involved. The role of the facilitator is:
- to stimulate and to inspire (educational activities, research programme, publications)
- to develop the network structure (meeting plaza) by organising meetings, workshops, presentations
- to contribute to sharing and disseminating knowledge
- to integrate the theme in the NHTV research programme
- to gather information and about the progress of then theme and report to the Board of Directors.
- integrating the strategic themes Imagineering, Cross-Cultural Understanding and Social Responsibility.
