What is a language tandem?

A language tandem is made up of two people with different mother tongue who meet to:

• Learn each other’s language
• To exchange information about country and culture,
• Learn about each other’s interests, study or work.

What are the advantages of tandem learning?

• Authentic conversation with a native speaker.
• Autonomous language learning.
• Exchange of additional knowledge and skills

How does tandem learning work?

• Two native speakers of different languages meet each other to learn their counterpart's native language.
• Language dominance in the conversation is shared: one half of the conversation is held in one language; the other occurs in the other language.
