
This programme addresses many new economic, social and environmental issues in relation to tourism and recreation. These issues range from, for example, industry transformation, destination management & development and urban-rural relationships to poverty alleviation and climate change. The key focus is on the sustainable development of tourism and recreation activities.

This makes the Bachelor of Science Tourism unique. It combines Wageningen’s world-class ‘green’ education with NHTV’s long-standing expertise on tourism.
As a student at the Academy for Tourism you will profit from the knowledge and expertise of lecturers who have considerable experience with actual practice. Knowledge is continually being developed. You get to study at an institute which provides an important contribution to the growing knowledge on the subject area, is on the move and is on top of all the latest developments. An example of a professorship at the Academy for Tourism is ‘Sustainable Tourism and Transport’, in which the relationships between tourism, tourist transportation and climate change are studied.
