Can I get access to the online databases of the NHTV Library if if I am not an employee or student of NHTV?

Yes, it is possible to gain access to the online databases of the library, while visiting an NHTV library.

If you want to request access the online databases, you need to contact the NHTV library, by e-mail (mediatheek(at)nhtv.nl ), at least 24 hours before your visit to an NHTV Library.

Please include the following information in your request:

  • Your name
  • The date and time you will be visiting an NHTV Library
  • The NHTV library you will be visiting
  • The reason for your visit
  • And other contact information, such as an email address and a telephone number

If the Library approves your request, a guest-account will then be made available to you. With this account you can access the online collection of the NHTV Library.
The guest-account can be collected at the information desk in the NHTV library of your choice.

Please note: a guest-account is only valid for one day!

An NHTV Library guest-account can only be used in an NHTV Library. It is not possible, for non NHTV employees and student and to gain access to the online databases outside an NHTV library.

Can I request library publications via IBL if I am not an employee or student of NHTV?

Yes, this is possible. You can request publications via the IBL services (Interlibrary Loan System) at your own library. Your library will send a request to borrow the publication to the NHTV library.
Of course you can always consult publications from the collection in the library, because all our library locations are open to the general public. But if you want to borrow a book you can only do this via IBL.
