EndNote from X3 to X5

Due to the new features of the bibliography management program EndNote,  NHTV will switch to EndNote X5. At the moment, the X3 version is installed on the network. EndNote users within NHTV often have the X3 version on their laptop or home computer. With the new X5 release, you can: attach files to an EndNote web record, transfer file attachments between the web and your computer, or update references automatically. There are a few things for EndNote users to bear in mind.
The current version on the NHTV network EndNote X3 is, unfortunately, not compatible with Word 2010.    More information on this matter can be found via this URL: http://www.endnote.com/enword2k7.asp

EndNote 5 is compatible with Word 2010. 

ICT is planning to upgrade the NHTV network to a newer Office 2010 version, of which Word 2010 is part.  That is why it is necessary to switch to the new EndNote X5 release.

In other words, within NHTV you cannot choose between EndNote X3 or X5.
Before the switchover, you are recommended to save your own EndNote library and EndNote data on a USB stick. As it happens, it is always wise to make backups using USB sticks.

For the installation of the X5 version on your laptop or home computer, you can borrow a CD or USB stick from the library.
