Application Dutch students
The Academy for Digital Entertainment applies a selection procedure as it admits a limited number of students every year.
Numerus fixus - Restricted intake
For the academic year 2012-2013, a maximum of 240 students will be admitted on to the International Game Architecture and Design programme. NHTV is allowed to select 100% of its own students directly from their motivation letter and the quality of their work.
The application deadline is 15 May but we advise you not to wait until the last moment!
Application and selection
If you want to know whether the International Game Architecture and Design programme really suits you, you can do the self-assessment. You will receive immediate feedback regarding your suitability for the Academy for Digital Entertainment programmes. Please note: The test is for your information only: the results are not used in the selection procedure.
Step 1
Dutch students must apply to Studielink. For selection we advise you to apply before 15th April as you need time to do some assignments.
Manual application and enrolment (Dutch)
After you have registered at Studielink you will receive your NHTV ID code from NHTV and a link to the assessment website in a mail from Studielink. Your NHTV ID code will give you access to the assessment website and procedures.
Step 2
Enter the assessment website with your NHTV ID code. Then upload:
- a motivation letter
- your resume (CV)
- the assignment on the assessment site.
Step 3
After May 15 your assignment will be reviewed. Applicants who completely fulfilled step two may be invited for an interview and/or to show a portfolio but some may be directly selected based on the quality of the assignment and motivation letter.
Step 4
You will be informed by DUO-IB-Groep if you were selected by NHTV. Remember that you must also make your application definite at DUO by redeeming your award certificate through Studielink. Your selection will not be official until your diploma has been received and approved by DUO.
Please note:
If you are not admitted by NHTV, there is still always the possibility of being admitted via the DUO - IB-Groep if spaces are still available. Therefore, we highly advise you to go to the assessment site after you receive your password and do the assignment for the variation of your choice, upload your CV and motivation letter early to increase your chances of selection.
