Student services

When you are far away from home, you might need a little help to make you feel at home in the Netherlands.

Student Office

Of course, we would gladly help you get settled into your new life!  You can find us at our front desk, situated at NHTV location Mgr. Hopmansstraat (main building).

We are open every day from 09.00 to 13.00 hours, so if you have any questions, please come and drop by! You can also reach us at +3176 533 2333 or

Arrival days

NHTV organises a two-day arrival event at the end of August before you actually start your studies. You will be informed about legal affairs that need to be taken care of, you will receive plenty of practical information, as well as an introduction to your study programme and, last but not least, there will be a welcome party in the city centre. Attendance in this introduction event is mandatory. In the second semester we will also organise an arrival event.

In the Netherlands, students can seek support from student counsellors in the area of academic career guidance, student facilities, and questions or problems of a personal nature. They promote the students' interests and are the contact persons of the students. An international student counsellor has been appointed at NHTV especially for international students.

ESN Breda Candidate Sections

NHTV has its own Erasmus Student Network especially for international students, called ESN Breda. They organise all kinds of activities for international students, like a pick-up service, movie night, trips to Amsterdam and other Dutch heritage sites, international dinners, sports events, and so on.
You can find more information about ESN Breda at:

NHTV cooperates closely with BRESS, which is a student sports organisation. So if you want to get active during your stay in the Netherlands, BRESS is the place to go! More information can be found at

Dutch Culture and Society

NHTV offers the course Dutch Culture and Society to all international students. Upon completion of this course, you will have a better understanding of the Dutch culture and society.

IT Services

All students have access to NHTV’s computing services free of charge. Students need a personal user account in order to have access to the IT Services. Exchange students will receive their user account before arrival, so you can access your personal portal straight away. The IT Services include Computer Labs, wireless networks around NHTV, Intranet, NHTV e-mail account, and mailing lists.

NHTV Breda makes use of an electronic learning environment (ELO) or N@tschool. This ELO system offers you a great many possibilities, and as a result, benefits. As we will be working with the ELO system throughout the entire study programme, you are strongly recommended to bring a laptop.

Library services

NHTV Library services are available for students, staff and everyone else, who needs professional information. Most of the library services are free of charge.
