I am well prepared to work in the tourism industry

'Studying International Tourism Management at NHTV has turned out to be the best decision I could have made to combine more travelling with training to become a professional. During the first two years, I lived in Breda where I got to know and love the Dutch culture (excluding their food to be honest), and became friends with people from all over the world.

We also went on field trips to Albania and Macedonia as well as to Myanmar and Thailand. Although especially the research we conducted on site and the company visits in the field were meaningful to understand what the studies are actually all about, these trips were so much fun and incomparable to anything I had done before!

After the second year, I decided to study at one of NHTV’s partner universities in Barcelona, and afterwards I continued my journey to go to Bristol in the UK where I interned with the destination management organisation of the city. For me, this was the highlight of my studies so far because I was surprised by how well I was already prepared to actually work in the industry, and besides, I realised that I would not be there without the opportunities that NHTV has offered me.

Today, I am studying a pre-master’s programme at NHTV and I am going to write my thesis for the company I interned with.'
