I am still very happy with my choice for NHTV

'My name is Andreea Rotaru. I was born and raised in Romania and at the age of 19, after finishing secondary school, I decided to start the International Tourism Management programme at NHTV.

Before I started the second year, I needed to choose the programme which I wanted to study for the next three years. Since I am a person interested in research, I went for International Tourism Management and Consultancy. I felt that out of the other specialisation areas, this one was more appealing in terms of matching my personality

I do have to say that the highlight of the second year was the fieldtrip. We were offered a choice between going to Rotterdam or going to Singapore and Bali. I chose to go to the latter destination, because I was very much interested in going to another continent and see how people live there.

We were assigned in Bali and we spent two weeks there, gathering information, enjoying the sun and the ocean, but most of all the atmosphere. Once returned in the Netherlands, we needed to submit a Destination Analysis to our supervisors. It may sound easy, but there are many factors which needed to be taken into account. All in all, one could say that the second year, even though it was harder, was more fulfilling.

At the moment, I am enrolled at the university and I follow courses like Management, French, Financial Accounting or Project Development. At the moment, I am interested in finding a proper internship somewhere in the UK or in Iceland.

To conclude, I know that I could not have had all these opportunities had I stayed in Romania and study there, so on the whole, I am very happy with the choice that I have made.'
