What will you learn?

You will be extensively introduced to the dynamic travel industry and get to know the various market players. You will acquire knowledge and understanding of worldwide trends and developments in the area of travel and you will find out about which new developments affect people’s travel behaviour. You will learn how consumers search for and book their trips, which media they use and consult, and which mode of transport they use for their trip. You will learn how to develop innovative services and travel products – by means of creativity and using new media and technology – to provide present-day consumers with optimum travel experiences. Topics dealt with will include backgrounds of travel behaviour, travel industry characteristics, sales and marketing via different channels, and e-business. You will develop online and offline skills in the area of sales and personal development.

  • Travel Industry Landscape (introduction to the travel industry)
  • Travel Industry Producers (actors and travel businesses in the travel industry)
  • Travel Distribution (changes in online and offline channels, and impacts of new travel businesses)
  • Travel Transportation (how trends and developments generate changes in mobility)
  • Global Tourism (who is the tourist of the future and what is the effect of this on our planet)
  • Tourism Project (launch an innovative travel concept and ensure that it is interactive)

The tourism travel industry includes all organisations that take consumers from their homes to their destinations. Just think of tour operators, airline companies, (business) travel organisations, and online and offline travel businesses, but also travel platforms and ICT travel companies.
