Holland Scholarship

The Holland Scholarship is financed by the Dutch Ministry of Education, Culture and Science, as well as Dutch research universities and universities of applied sciences. The scholarship is meant for international students from outside the European Economic Area (EEA) who want to do their bachelor’s degree in Holland. In order to limit the amount of applications and thus make an honest and clear selection, application is only open to non-EU applicants. Students with the following nationality are given priority: Brazilian, Chinese, Indonesian or Azerbaijani.

Scholarship amount

A scholarship of € 5,000 to contribute to your living costs in the Netherlands. The scholarship will be paid to you by NHTV University of Applied Sciences after arrival in the Netherlands.

Application criteria

To qualify for the Holland Scholarship of NHTV University of Applied Sciences Breda, candidates should:

  • Not have lived in Europe for more than 12 months over the past 5 years;
  • Never have studied in the Netherlands, except as an exchange student for 1 or 2 semesters;
  • Have excellent grades during their undergraduate studies;
  • Have excellent English language proficiency;
  • Have a letter from NHTV Breda with an admission offer for a bachelor's programme;
  • Write a motivation letter in which you make clear why you are the right candidate for a Holland Scholarship of NHTV Breda University of Applied Sciences and how you will promote NHTV Breda in your country of origin.
  • Students with the following nationality are given priority: Brazilian, Chinese, Indonesian or Azerbaijani.

How to apply

You can apply for the scholarship after you have received an admission letter for a bachelor's programme. You can send your application form and a letter of motivation for the Holland Scholarship Programme of NHTV Breda to scholarships@nhtv.nl.

You can apply for the scholarship between 1 November 2017 and 1 May 2018.
