Would you like to become a broadly trained professional or a specialist? In the first semester of the fourth year you have the opportunity to do a broadening or a deepening minor, earning you 30 study credits.

Broadening minors

If you attend a broadening minor, you will broaden your knowledge and skills, looking beyond the boundaries of your own discipline. You will work together with students and lecturers from various academies and disciplines, enabling you to adopt a more interdisciplinary thinking and working approach. Projects and case studies are developed in cooperation with the industry. Our broadening minors are delivered in English, and they are open to all NHTV students. Moreover, the NHTV-wide minors are also accessible to fourth-year students from other universities of applied sciences. You can find an overview of the broadening minors offered in the academic year of 2018-2019 here.

Deepening minors

If you do a deepening programme-specific minor at NHTV, you will deepen your knowledge and skills by further specialising in your own discipline. These minors have been designed especially for students who want to do a course within their primary field. NHTV students of related study programmes will be eligible for admission under certain conditions. In principle, the programme-specific minors are not open to students from other universities of applied sciences, except for a number of universities which NHTV’s academies have established agreements with for the purpose of mutual student exchanges within their own discipline.

NHTV’s minor offerings are reviewed every year. A complete overview of the broadening and deepening (programme-specific) minors can be found under the relevant study programme information on our website. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us via minorhelpdesk@nhtv.nl.
