Everything Procedural Conference 2018 (EPC2018) at NHTV Breda

NHTV Breda University of Applied Sciences will open its doors on Wednesday April 25th for the Everything Procedural Conference 2018 with a variety of lectures, talks and demonstrations showing the future of procedural content generation for games. The Everything Procedural Conference (EPC2018) will offer many opportunities to meet and share knowledge with fellow developers.

EPC2018 will cover various topics ranging from procedural level design and world building to generative art. Presentations will be provided by leading figures in the field, presenting procedural content application in companies from Indie to AAA game development. Presentations will reveal some of the secrets and hidden techniques used to create successful games like Horizon Zero Dawn (Guerrilla Games), Ghost Recon Wildlands (Ubisoft) and Watch Dogs 2 (Ubisoft).

Other talk highlights will be delivered by Oskar Stalberg on using Wave Function Collapse to create levels in the game Bad North. Anastasia Opara from SEED (Search for Extraordinary Experiences Division) at EA will be exploring the collaboration between proceduralism and deep learning, which is one of the hottest topics at the moment. Innes McKendrick from Hello Games will discuss the continuous work to update No Man's Sky since its launch in 2016, looking at techniques the team developed to manage, test and improve its procedurally generated universe.

The conference will be preceded by a two-day Masterclass by Manuel C. Merkle and Moritz Schwind from Entagma. With the Masterclass we provide an unique opportunity to learn, meet and work with the best mentors in the field.

EPC2018 is open to students in game related studies (free) and professionals in the field of Video Games, Game Development, Computer Graphics and Procedural Content Generation and will be of interest to anyone that wants to obtain insight in how current and future games are made.
